Grace at design*sponge posted about this new e-shop Ashes & Milk, and although everything offered is just so beautiful, I was really taken by these gorgeous urushi bamboo spoons by Mori Kowa.
I couldn't find any information about the artist online, but I did learn that the all natural, rare and labor intensive urushi method of lacquering has been in practice for over 6000 years! The lacquer is derived from the antiseptic sap of the male urushi tree! You can click here if you want to learn more about the process.
